Kangaroo is a front carry with a woven wrap that is suitable from newborn to toddlerhood. It can be done with a base size and shorter wraps. If you are new to carrying with woven wraps, you can learn the Kangaroo as your first front carry, but most often it’s seen as a more advanced carry, so it could be beneficial to gain some experience with the Front Wrap Cross Carry first.
Suitable for: People who have some experience with fwcc
Equipment: If you have a woven wrap, please bring it along (as well as your child or doll).
Abigail de Boer
Abigail is a Dutch mum of a toddler boy and baby girl. During her first pregnancy babywearing seemed fun and practical to her and two weeks after her son was born she began to carry him in wraps. It turned out to be not only fun and practical, but mostly a tool to keep her very skin-hungry baby happy. She have never looked back since and kept carrying her son until the day his baby sister was born. Now she is the one carried every day. She use mainly woven wraps, ringslings and meh dais. In 2017 she did training in babywearing consultancy at Slingababy school. In June 2017 she started to work for the babywearing shop Bæreglede in Oslo as well as giving private consults. Furthermore, she held two workshops at the Nasjonalt Bæretreff 2017 in Oslo. Babywearing consultancy makes it possible for her to share her passion for babywearing with others and to provide professional help to both people who want to start babywearing and those who want to improve their existing babywearing skills.
